At present Thai government has given great importance to develop the rail transport system. Therefore, the development of the rail network has been accelerated. Whether double-track railway construction and high-speed rail projects in various routes to connect areas across the country to improve the efficiency of the country`s rail transport. It can reduce the traveling time of passengers and transporting goods. It can reduce transportation and logistics costs.   ปัจจุบัน รัฐบาลไทยได้ให้ความสำคัญกับการพัฒนาระบบขนส่งทางรางเป็นอย่างมาก จึงได้เร่งรัดให้มีการพัฒนาโครงข่ายระบบรางเพิ่มขึ้น ไม่ว่าจะเป็นโครงการก่อสร้างรถไฟทางคู่ และโครงการรถไฟความเร็วสูงในเส้นทางต่างๆ เพื่อเชื่อมโยงพื้นที่ต่างๆ ทั่วประเทศ เพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการขนทางรางของประเทศให้ดียิ่งขึ้น สามารถลดระยะเวลาในการเดินทางของผู้โดยสาร และการขนส่งสินค้าให้น้อยลง สามารถลดต้นทุนด้านการขนส่ง และโลจิสติกส์ให้ต่ำลงได้ รวมทั้งจะช่วยลดปัญหามลพิษทางอากาศที่เป็นปัญหาสำคัญระดับชาติที่ต้องแก้ไขอย่างเร่งด่วนด้วยขณะที่ราคาน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิงในประเทศได้มีการปรับสูงขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่องทำให้ราคาค่าบริการขนส่งสินค้าทางถนนมีการปรับเพิ่มสูงขึ้นตามไปด้วย ทำให้ปริมาณความต้องการขนส่งสินค้าทางรางที่มีต้นทุนต่ำกว่ามีแนวโน้มเพิ่มมากขึ้น

Thai Rail Company Limited has developed the first rail cargo handling service center managed by the private sector that is modern and fully integrated on the area over 20,000 square meter at the Sri Samran Station, Song Phi Nong District Suphanburi Province which can travel and transfer the goods into the are easily through the inter-provincial main road networks that cut through many routes. In addition the location of the Sri Samran Station is not far from many large industrial estated in Nakhon Pathom, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. Therefore, the service center ``Sri Samran`` is number in Thailand for transportation and distributing goods by rail.
